The goal of this project was to welcome all new IDEOers before their start date, so that everyone coming into IDEO had a baseline knowledge of what IDEO is, what it does, and how a person might navigate this new place. The design was meant to feel like a throwback, bureaucratic, old school filing system…meets wild colors. The information given to these new joiners was in fact pretty bureaucratic, a lot of reading, a lot of paperwork, and a very long welcome email with a ton of important information. The overall design was meant to take that traditional paperwork, turn it on its head, and be a little playful with it. A lot of flat imagery that looks real, but not real.

People would first receive their “hello” welcome email, and then a physical welcome kit would appear at their door complete with Post-Its, Sharpies, a notebook, books, a robot puzzle, and a couple “handwritten” notes.

I lead the development of the visual language, physical assets, and execution of assets for digital application.
